Hazelnut Chocolate Butter

Hazelnut Chocolate Butter

Serves: 1 cup Cooking Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup hazelnuts
  • 2.5 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/4th cup almond milk (or regular milk)
  • 1 TBsp coconut oil (or any other neutral oil)
  • 8-10 small dates (soaked in warm water for 5 minutes)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Water to thin out the consistency (I used about 1/4th cup) (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 160 C

Add hazelnuts to a baking tray(lay them flat, they shouldn't overlap)

Bake for 15 minutes, shaking the tray every 5 minutes to ensure equal browning

If the hazelnuts have a casing on them, take a clean towel, wrap hazelnuts in the towel and rub (the friction will remove the casing)

Blend hazelnuts in a food processor until smooth

Add dates, oil, salt and milk and blend well

If you want the consistency thinner, blend in or whisk in water

Bottle and refrigerate!
