Coconut Chocolate Bounty Bars

Serves: 5 bars Cooking Time: 20 minutes


  • For the coconut filling:
  • 1 cup shredded regular dried coconut
  • 2/3rd cup desiccated coconut (12 tablespoons)
  • 2 tablespoons condensed milk (you can use maple syrup or condensed milk made from full fat coconut milk to make this vegan)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • For the chocolate:
  • 1 cup dark chocolate(175 gms)(Use vegan chocolate to make them vegan)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • Sea salt (optional)



Mix all the ingredients for the coconut filling in a bowl


Mix them well, use your hands if necessary


Form rough bar like shapes using this mixture (you can make 5 bars)


Take parchment paper/ baking paper or foil and put it on a plate, place the bars onto the plate and place them in the freezer for at least one hour


Prepare the chocolate mixture after one hour of the bars freezing


In a double boiler set up or microwave add the chocolate chips or chopped up chocolate along with the coconut oil


Slowly melt the chocolate and coconut oil mixture until smooth, be careful not to burn the chocolate especially in the microwave


If you're using the microwave, keep mixing the chocolate+coconut oil mixture after every 30 seconds of microwaving


Once the chocolate has melted, take the bars out of the freezer and coat them well in the chocolate mixture


Keep them back on the parchment/baking paper on the plate, sprinkle some sea salt on the bars and put them back in the freezer


(If you don't have baking paper use foil but make sure to use either of the two to avoid the chocolate from sticking to the plate)


Freeze for at least 2 hours and enjoy immediately!
