Chai Tea Spice Mix

There’s nothing better than waking up to an aromatic cup of chai. Follow this recipe to make your chai spice mix, a teaspoon of  which will make every morning cup delicious.

 

Chai Tea Spice Mix

Serves: 4 cups of tea Cooking Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • (Spice Mix)
  • 1/2 tsp Black peppercorns
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon powder
  • 5-6 strands of Saffron
  • 8-10 dried Rose petals
  • 1 tsp Cardamom powder
  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
  • .
  • (For chai tea)
  • 1+1/2 TBs Chai Tea Leaves
  • 2 cups of Milk
  • 1 cup of Water
  • 1+1/2 TBs Sugar

Instructions

Step 1: Crush the spices: cardamom, peppercorns, nutmeg and cinnamon

Step 2: Add in the saffron and dried rose petals

Step 3: Add the spice mix along with the tea leaves to boiling water. Let the mixture brew for a few moments so that the flavour of the spices comes out

Step 4: Add your milk and sugar and give it a good boil

Step5: Strain the mixture and enjoy your cup of chai

Notes

You can reduce the sugar quantity or add it later. You can also add cloves and ginger powder or fresh ginger to your spice mix
