Cauliflower Pizza

Cauliflower Pizza

Serves: 1 small pizza Cooking Time: 1.5 hours


  • For the crust:
  • 1 head of cauliflower
  • 2.5 tbsps of goat cheese
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 tbsp of parmesan cheese
  • 2 stalks of fresh oregano( you can use 1 tbsp of dried oregano as well)
  • Salt to taste
  • .
  • For the sauce: You can use a ready made sauce or make your sauce at home. Here's what I used to make my sauce:
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 full stalks of parsley
  • 1/2 an onion (medium sized)
  • A can of san marzano tomatoes (200 gms) (you can use 3 regular small tomatoes as well, just make sure to deseed them)
  • 100 ml of tomato puree (it's best to use canned or tetra pack)
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
  • A handful of fresh basil leaves
  • 5 stalks of fresh oregano (you can use dried basil and oregano powder too)
  • Toppings:
  • Bell peppers
  • Caramelized Onions
  • Mushrooms
  • Fresh green jalapenos
  • Fresh Buffalo Mozzarella
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Basil leaves



For the crust:


Pulse the cauliflower florets in a blender or grate it to get a cauliflower rice like fine texture


Blanch the cauliflower in some salted water


Wait for it to cool a bit and then strain it in a thin muslin cloth


Remove the water properly, keep squeezing continuously until there is no moisture left


Mix this dry cauliflower with goat cheese, the beaten egg, oregano, parmesan cheese and salt


The dough is ready, you won't be able to stretch this dough you will have to press it down


You can use some flour or corn flour to make handling this dough easier


Take a baking paper/parchment paper and line it in a baking tray, grease the paper with some olive oil or butter to avoid sticking


Press down the dough to form a circular form of the crust, the crust should be about 1/2 to 1/4th inch thick


After pressing down the crust on the parchment paper in the baking tray, bake it for 35-40 minutes at 180 degrees C


Remove the crust and flip it over carefully, bake for another 5-10 minutes at the same temperature


Remove the crust and gather all your toppings and the pizza sauce


For the pizza sauce:


Add the butter and olive oil to the pan and wait for it to melt


Add the garlic and onions and cook them for a minute or two


Add the parsley and cook the mixture


Add fresh or canned tomatoes along with the tomato puree(if using canned tomatoes, please strain the excess liquid)


Add fresh Basil, oregano, salt, pepper and sugar and cook the mixture on a medium heat


Take it off the heat and when it's easier to handle, blend the mixture in a blender to get a smooth texture


Your pizza sauce is ready! This can also be made and refrigerated for 3 days(you can make pastas with it too)


After your crust has been baked smear your sauce pizza and top it up with your fave veggies and cheese and bake it for 5-10 minutes at 180 Degrees C
