    Healthy Mung Bean Hummus

    Let’s be honest, how much ever we try to eat healthy pulses mung beans just never makes it to the list because we don’t like consuming it in spite of all the health benefits. I decided to make a healthier alternative to hummus using the most basic ingredients and yet keeping intact the high protein and dietary fibre in the beans.

    Healthy Mung Bean Hummus

    Serves: 1 large bowl Cooking Time: 30 mins


    • 1.5 cups boiled mung beans
    • 6 tablespoons of cold water
    • 2 TBs Tahini(store bought is always safer)
    • 1 TBs Lime Juice
    • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
    • 2 chopped up garlic cloves
    • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
    • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder(optional)
    • Salt to taste



    Step 1:Add the boiled beans and 2 TBs of cold water in the blender and blend until smooth


    Step 2: Add the remaining ingredients: Tahini, lime juice, garlic, cumin, chili powder, cardamom powder, salt, cold water and blend well


    Step 3: Your healthy yummy hummus is ready to eat! Top it up with olive oil, some fried mung beans & cilantro and enjoy
